O’AHU, Hawaii--()--Adventist Health has signed a long-term participating hospital agreement with Humana’s (NYSE:HUM) Medicare Advantage operations in Hawaii.

Under terms of the agreement, members of Humana’s ChoicePPO Medicare Advantage Plan will have in-network benefit access to all inpatient, outpatient and emergency services provided by the 160-bed Castle Medical Center, owned and operated by Adventist Health, a Seventh-day Adventist health care system.
Since 2006, Humana’s Medicare Advantage products in Hawaii have included a private fee-for-service (PFFS) plan and stand-alone Medicare prescription drug plans (PDPs). In January 2009, Humana launched a Medicare Advantage preferred provider organization (PPO) plan in Hawaii.
“This new relationship with Castle Medical Center demonstrates our continued commitment to provide the best possible network to our members,” said Carol Sato, director of Medicare Operations for Humana of Hawaii. “We’re thrilled to include Castle Medical Center as a standard provider and thereby provide our members access to the facilities and services to O’ahu’s primary health care facility.”
