Humana Explores Health Care Reform With “Stay Smart Stay Healthy” Video

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--()--Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) recently released a new video in the successful Stay Smart, Stay Healthy (SSSH) series to address the topic of “Health care reform: What is it and why do we need it?” Health care reform is complex, but very important. The SSSH videos are designed to explain complicated subjects in simple and understandable terms, using paper cartoon cutouts to illustrate concepts.

The Stay Smart, Stay Healthy videos have more than 1 million views on YouTube and have consistently ranked at the top of the education category since their launch in November 2008.

“The level of interest in health care reform, the Stay Smart, Stay Healthy format and success of the original series led to the creation of this video,” said Ed Batchelor, Humana’s Corporate Director of Web and New Media. “The videos remain non-partisan, and do not promote one solution over any other.”

The health care reform video is posted on YouTube and is linked from social media sites including Facebook and MySpace.

“The intended audience is the general public; anyone can gather insights from the video,” said Batchelor. “The goal is education, making sure that all parties understand what’s being discussed as the debate continues. We understand health care is very personal, and many people have strong feelings about health care reform.”
