LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2006--Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced today that PGA TOUR professional David Toms will extend his relationship with the company through 2008. Toms, who is currently ranked 3rd on the PGA TOUR money list and 8th in the Officials World Golf Rankings, is in his second season with Humana as one of his major tour sponsors.

Under the terms of the agreement, Toms will host events at Carter Plantation in Springfield, La., for Humana clients. He will also make appearances at Humana's PGA TOUR hospitality tents at various tournaments throughout the country. As part of the agreement, Humana will continue to support the David Toms Foundation.

A new element of the contract involves Humana's agreement to work with Toms' caddie, Scott Gneiser, to extend Humana's brand message of "Guidance when you need it most." With both Toms and Gneiser on board, Humana will be able to leverage their respective skills in order to build the Humana brand and image across the various PGA TOUR audiences.

"We are very pleased that we have this opportunity to continue working with David and now with Scott," said Steve Moya, Humana's senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "David's name recognition, incredible play and character continue to build momentum for our efforts to become a recognizable part of the PGA TOUR landscape in coming years."

"We have some new and exciting promotional plans together that will help expand Humana's growth through the impact of the company's PGA TOUR sponsorship," said Toms. "There are great opportunities in business and on the TOUR, and I look forward to our collective success in both."

Humana will also continue its sponsorship of The First Tee program, which has as its mission impacting the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life enhancing values through the game of golf. In 2005, Humana sponsored six local Humana Days at The First Tee around the country, bringing together Humana associates and more than 100 young people who are part of The First Tee program in their local communities. Through its contributions, Humana also helped establish more local chapters, including the 200th The First Tee chapter in the company's home city of Louisville, Ky.
