LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Humana Military Healthcare Services (HMHS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), received a silver award for “Best Site Design” in the 2008 eHealthcare Leadership Awards during a special presentation at the Twelfth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference, November 10-12, in Orlando, Florida. This leading awards program, now in its ninth year, exclusively recognizes the very best web sites of health care providers, health plans, health care associations, online health companies, pharmaceutical/medical equipment firms, suppliers, other health care organizations, and business improvement initiatives.
“HMHS associates work diligently to ensure our beneficiaries and providers have access to a safe and user-friendly web site,” said Dave Baker, president and CEO for HMHS. “We are honored to be recognized by this prestigious awards program and look forward to continuing our tradition of providing quality services to the military population we serve.”
These awards highlight the internet's role in achieving an organization's business objectives and recognizes the hard work that has gone into creating outstanding health web sites. Criteria for judging the “Best Site Design” category included having easy to identify and access to key service pages, engaging and appealing design for target audience, and strong organization branding.
Judging for this competition was an independent panel of individuals familiar with health care and the internet who evaluated each entry and web site. Sites were rated on how they compared with other entries within their awards category and how consistent they were with other leading web sites in and outside the health care industry.
Over 1,100 entries were submitted from a wide range of health care organizations in 12 different award categories. To view the HMHS website, please visit: www.humana-military.com.
