Humana Foundation Donates $1,000,000 to Support Hurricane Irma Relief

Donation will help the American Red Cross provide disaster relief services

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Humana Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), announced today it will provide initial support through a $1 million grant to the American Red Cross to help the nonprofit organization deliver vital services, including health services, to those affected by Hurricane Irma.

In addition, Humana Inc. announced that the company will match storm relief donations by its employees.

Hurricane Irma, one of the most powerful storms ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, has caused widespread damage across parts of Florida and is projected to spread to other states as its makes its way north. The American Red Cross is one of the organizations that is mobilizing and preparing to mount a massive relief effort in Florida and other affected communities.
