Partners in Primary Care to Expand its U.S. Footprint with 10 New Centers

New senior-focused primary care centers will open this year in South Carolina and Texas

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Partners in Primary Care will bring its innovative, senior-focused primary care model to 10 additional locations in 2019. The company will open five medical centers in South Carolina, and five in Texas. Partners in Primary Care, a subsidiary of Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), is part of a family of senior-focused, primary care centers that deliver care to 35,000 Medicare Advantage patients. Each Partners in Primary Care center serves members from many different Medicare health plans.

Like its existing centers, each new Partners in Primary Care center will be staffed by board-certified physicians and care teams who have been specially trained to treat the senior population. Physicians spend more time with their patients, and care teams focus on creating personalized care plans designed to help patients achieve their best possible health, which includes helping patients with social, behavioral and financial needs.

“It felt like a real partnership right off the bat,” said Gust Nicholson, a patient at the Partners in Primary Care center in Greer, South Carolina. “It’s a partnership focused on me and my health. My doctor makes me feel good about who I am and where I am in life. All the caregivers and staff are good-natured and friendly people. …I feel really good. I think I can do anything again.”

In South Carolina, where Partners in Primary Care already has four centers, the company will add five new centers: one in Seneca, two in Charleston, and two additional centers in the Greenville-Spartanburg area. Partners in Primary Care will also enter the Houston, Texas, market with five new centers.

“These new centers affirm our commitment to ensuring that seniors in more areas, particularly in underserved areas, have access to high quality, senior-focused primary care,” said Renee Buckingham, president of Humana’s Care Delivery Organization. “Senior-focused care goes well beyond treating you when you’re sick. We’re committed to providing in-depth care that focuses on each patient’s unique health and well-being needs.”

All of the new Partners in Primary Care locations are scheduled to open between June and September 2019. For more information on Partners in Primary Care centers in other states, visit www.PartnersInPrimaryCare.com.
