KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced today it will allow its health plan members in seven Missouri counties to obtain early refills of their prescriptions in the wake of devastating flooding that has struck the region in recent days.

With widespread damage to area homes and businesses, many people have been forced to leave their homes quickly and may be in need of medications or medical supplies. In response, Humana has temporarily lifted the normal 30-day prescription refill restriction for its impacted Medicare, commercial and individual plan members in designated counties through July 2. If necessary, Humana will extend the special allowances beyond that date and to any additional counties declared disaster areas.

As of today, the following counties have been declared disaster areas: Clark, Lewis, Lincoln, Marion, Pike, Ralls and St. Charles. Humana members with questions are encouraged to call the toll-free customer service number on the back of their Humana identification cards.

Humana is one of Missouris largest providers of health benefits. More than 200,000 members statewide use Humanas commercial and Medicare health plans.
