LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The United Kingdoms Department of Health announced today that Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) has been appointed as one of the suppliers to the UKs Framework for procuring External Support for Commissioners (FESC). The FESC will provide Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) in the UK with easy access to a framework of expert suppliers who can support them in undertaking their commissioning functions.

Humana will work in partnership with local PCTs, health care providers, and patients to strengthen health-service delivery and to implement strategies at a local level to help the National Health Service (NHS) enhance patient experience, improve clinical outcomes and reduce costs.

Humana is ideally placed to help deliver effective health outcomes tailored to the needs of individuals and to local populations, said Dr. Rebecca Rosen, Medical Director of Humana Europe.
