Humana Helps Medicare Members Keep New Year's Resolutions

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Now that the holiday season has passed and New Years resolutions have been made, Humana (http://www.humana.com/) (NYSE: HUM) is offering its Medicare members with stand-alone prescription drug coverage access to a pedometer-based exercise program that will make it easier to maintain a healthier lifestyle in 2007.

Humana prescription drug plans (http://www.humana-medicare.com/medicare-part-d.asp) (PDPs) offer the SilverSneakers Steps (http://www.stepsbywalksport.com/ss/AB_main.aspx) program at no additional cost. SilverSneakers Steps is a self-directed walking and physical activity program. Activities in addition to walking can include fishing, golfing, gardening and playing with grandchildren, all of which may easily be converted to steps for physical activity tracking.

Humana stand-alone PDP members receive, in addition to the pedometer for counting daily steps, a welcome gift, an activity planner and tracking log, access to a toll-free SilverSneakers Steps hotline, access to personalized members-only web site information, Healthy Steps quarterly newsletter offering passes for free visits to fitness centers, and invitations to community events, such as Humana Active OutlookSM (http://www.humana-medicare.com/medicare-coverage/humana-active -outlook.asp?cm_re_o=8tY2tBBlwCjCPBpY1bELlCjC-gfbMwRAfkBBL -- Due to its length, this URL may need to be copied/pasted into your Internet browser's address field. SilverSneakers Steps is currently available in all states except eight, where no Humana-SilverSneakers contract is in place: California, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Oregon, Washington, Maryland and New Jersey. It is also currently unavailable in the District of Columbia.
