LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leading health and well-being company Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) is launching its Complete Dental plan, a comprehensive plan for individuals that offers broad preventive, basic and major services coverage.

Humana’s Complete Dental option is designed to provide immediate preventive care through cleanings and exams and, after standard wait periods, covers fillings and extractions as well as additional services such as root canals, crowns and dentures. Waiting periods may be waived if consumers have had 12 months of continuous prior dental coverage. This plan works well for those who may be recently retired or are moving off of a group dental plan.

“For consumers who may be transitioning dental plans, our new Complete Dental option allows individuals to secure immediate coverage for basic and major dental services if they have had one year of dental coverage prior to enrolling,” said Dave Vanden Heuvel, Humana’s Vice President – Specialty Products. “Helping our members achieve their best health through their dental care is an integral part of Humana’s overall well-being approach.”

Complete Dental is a PPO plan, allowing members the flexibility to have coverage with in-network and out-of-network dentists. Complete Dental is available in 21 states; the plan can be purchased by individuals of any age, and can be bought year-round. This new plan expands Humana’s portfolio of dental products, offering consumers a broad range of cost and coverage options to fit their individual needs.

Complete Dental will be available in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin.
