"There's so much more to Medicare. Let's Talk"
LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 2006--For the second consecutive year, Humana Inc. (NYSE:HUM) is launching a nationwide mobile educational campaign designed to assist Medicare beneficiaries learn about new Medicare and prescription drug coverage options available to them in 2007. With the theme, "There's so much more to Medicare. Let's Talk," a fleet of eight recreational vehicles (RVs) will travel through 34 states to reach people in their own communities.

The RV tour will travel to senior and civic centers and select Wal*Mart locations in both urban and rural areas. Humana Medicare advisors will be on hand to provide educational information on new health and prescription drug coverage options in 2007. People eligible for Medicare will be able to learn about important dates related to the enrollment process and how to research prescription drug availability. Humana Medicare advisors will also offer guidance as to which type of plan may be best suited for a beneficiary based on health, lifestyle and income criteria.

Of particular interest to America's 42 million Medicare beneficiaries will be the opportunity to enroll in regional, statewide or local Medicare Advantage PPO and private fee-for-service (PFFS) plans. The PPO plans include out-of-network benefits, while PFFS plans allow an enrollee access to any health care provider as long as that provider accepts Medicare reimbursement and Humana's terms and conditions. Both types of plans can include health benefits as well as prescription drug coverage for one monthly premium -- available for the first time in some markets to people who, until now, may not have had any option but to enroll in stand-alone Medicare Part D prescription drug plans (PDP).

"Educating people with Medicare about health benefits and prescription drug coverage options is a priority," said Stefen Brueckner, vice president of senior products for Humana. "Last year's Medicare education RV tour was a huge success. We had more than 250,000 consumers visit a Humana RV between August 2005 and May 2006. The 2005 "Let's Talk" tour traveled more than 110,000 miles to help people with Medicare better understand the program and prescription drug coverage options. We are now meeting the prescription drug coverage needs of approximately 4.4 million Medicare beneficiaries and will continue to offer innovative, affordable health benefit and prescription drug coverage solutions that offer more value than the original Medicare plan," he added.

The 2006 "There's so much more to Medicare. Let's Talk" RV Tour will be about more than just learning about changes in Medicare for 2007. Visitors will be able to participate in learning sessions and activities that focus on healthy aging and wellness programs offered through the Humana Active Outlook(SM) lifestyle enrichment program, including better bone health, nutrition and brain fitness.

"We know from this past year's experience that people who research and learn about their benefit options, and take the time to compare plans before making a choice, are generally very satisfied with their decision," said Scott Latimer, MD, market president for senior products in Central Florida. "The RV tour will, once again, provide a unique opportunity for people with Medicare and their family members to learn about prescription drug coverage options and health benefits that are best suited to meet their individual needs."

Initial stops during the tour include Atlanta, Green Bay, Philadelphia, St. Paul, Albuquerque, Denver, Boise, Idaho, Vancouver, Wash., Manchester, N.H. and Salt Lake City, Utah. And, for the first time, the "There's so much more to Medicare. Let's Talk" RV Tour will visit Los Angeles and New York City. The tour will run through December 21, 2006.
