Public Company Information:

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--RightSourceRxSM, Humana’s mail-order pharmacy, has received accreditation from URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry.

RightSourceRx received accreditation under URAC’s new mail service pharmacy accreditation program, which is a part of the group’s Pharmacy Quality Management® Suite of standards. URAC accreditation assures consumers and purchasers that RightSourceRx meets standards for consumer protection and empowerment.

RightSourceRx should be commended for meeting strict quality standards,” said Alan P. Spielman, URAC president and CEO. “It is critically important for health care organizations to make a commitment to quality and accountability. URAC accreditation is a demonstration of that commitment.”

William Fleming, Humana’s vice president of pharmacy and clinical integration, added, “We want our customers to know we have processes in place to deliver their prescriptions timely and accurately, and protect their health interests by ensuring safe delivery of those prescriptions. URAC accreditation shows that we have not only put the processes in place, but have had them reviewed by a respected third party.”

Located in Phoenix, RightSourceRx fills more than 5 million prescriptions annually. RightSourceRx is an important component of Humana Pharmacy Solutions, which also received URAC’s Pharmacy Benefit Management Accreditation in 2007.
