Public Company Information:

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kids On The Move, a non-profit organization fostering the physical, social, cognitive and emotional growth of young children, has received a $100,000 grant as the winner of the inaugural Utah Benefits award, funded by The Humana Foundation and Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), one of the nations largest providers of health insurance and related benefits.

Announcement of the grant was made by Earl F. Hurst, president of Humana of Utah, during the Utah Benefits Celebration on Friday in the Tower at Rice Eccles Stadium. Two other finalists for the award, the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Utah State Chapter, received grants of $10,000 from Humana.

Kids On The Move provides enrichment and development activities for families with disabled children at its Center in Orem, however, over 400 families served come from relatively remote areas of West Lehi, Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain. It is a significant time and resource hardship for low-income families as well as families with disabled children to make the trip to Orem.

Kids on the Move will fund and open a satellite center for these families in Lehi this Fall.

A panel of judges comprised of business and community leaders helped Humana select Kids On The Move from a set of three finalists, with each finalist addressing the improvement of the mind, body or spirit through its work.

With all the admirable non-profit work being done in Utah, it was difficult to select just one organization to receive our first Utah Benefits grant, said Hurst of Humana. Thats why we were especially pleased to be able to fund our two semi-finalists with $10,000 grants. We look forward to seeing the satellite center supporting Kids On The Move in Lehi and know it will make a huge impact in the lives of these families.
