Melanie Toniazzo Named Director of Small Group Sales for Humana's San Antonio and Laredo Markets

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Melanie Toniazzo has been named director of Small Group Sales for Humanas (NYSE: HUM) San Antonio and Laredo Markets, in an announcement made by Linda T. Hummel-McAlpin, market chief executive officer of Humana of South Texas.

Toniazzo will be responsible for sales of Humanas commercial products to employer groups with 2 to 99 employees in San Antonio and Laredo. She will manage a team of sales representatives and account executives focused on new business sales development and customer relations. Bart Ming will continue in his role as Director of Small Group Sales for Humanas Corpus Christi and Rio Grande Valley commercial health insurance business.

Melanie has an impressive history in the insurance industry and a passion for delivering the best possible account service to clients, said Hummel-McAlpin. Toniazzo previously served as vice president of Employee Benefits for Brown & Brown Insurance of Arizona, as senior associate for Mercer Health & Benefits in Phoenix and as account manager for Schaller Anderson of Phoenix.

Prior to moving to Phoenix in 2004, she served as assistant vice president of Client Services for Benefit Planners in Boerne and as a claims supervisor for Tower Life Insurance in San Antonio.

Toniazzo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication from Elmhurst University.
