Humana Advances Operations of Healthcare Services Businesses, Appointing Susan Diamond to Lead the Home Solutions Business Reporting to President and CEO Bruce Broussard

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), one of the nation’s leading health and well-being companies, announced the promotion of Susan Diamond to Segment President, Home Business. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, the need for quality, easily accessible and affordable care is at the forefront and the company believes its integrated care delivery model is an important part of the solution. The Home Business is a critical component of this model and accordingly, we are aligning the Home Business under separate leadership with the promotion of Diamond. This business was previously led by William Fleming, PharmD, Segment President, Healthcare Services. Fleming will continue to lead the Clinical and Pharmacy Solutions businesses and report directly to Humana President and CEO Bruce Broussard, likewise allowing more focus on these critical components of our integrated care delivery model.

Humana’s Home Solutions Business aligns Humana’s home care elements into a single operating unit, continuing to recognize the strategic importance of home care in bringing to life an integrated care delivery model that meets consumers where they want to be, in the more comfortable, accessible and lower cost setting of their home. In her new role, Susan will lead Humana At Home as well as our home nursing and in-home assessment operations. In addition, she will lead Home Operations, our transition management office with Kindred at Home.

In her new role, Diamond will serve as a member of the company’s Management Team and report directly to Humana President and CEO Bruce Broussard. Diamond joined Humana in 2006 as a strategic advisor focused on investment and acquisition opportunities before moving into strategic, financial and operational leadership positions for Humana’s Medicare and corporate finance organizations. Most recently, she has served as Senior Vice President, Medicare where she led Humana’s innovation, consumer segmentation, growth and trend mitigation strategies.

Prior to her time at Humana, Diamond served in key finance roles, including as Chief Financial Officer for Smoothstone IP Communications and Prosperitas Investment Partners. She began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bellarmine University.
